If you've received an email notifying you that your account is no longer part of the family plan, it means you've lost your premium status and are now eligible for renewal. Follow the steps below to restore your premium access.
When and Why Do I Need to Change My Account?
Spotify allows an account to be upgraded only once per year. If your last upgrade was less than a year ago, you'll need to use a different account to continue. However, if it's been more than a year since your last upgrade, you can simply choose the first option and proceed to upgrade the same account on the upgrade page.
How Can I Renew My Premium?
You have two options to regain premium access:
Renew Only Your Key
After renewing your key, visit the upgrade page. You can enter the details of another account if necessary or use the same account if eligible.
Create and Upgrade a New Account (Recommended)
If you prefer not to use another existing account, you can let the system create a new account for you with a new email address (the email can be random and doesn’t need to be valid). The system will automatically:
Create the new account.
Import all your playlists, liked songs, and followed artists.
Upgrade it to Premium.
Once the account is set up, if you want, you can log in and update the email to your original one in the Spotify profile settings.
